Remembering Arrested Development

Just writing to remember you how insanely amazing Arrested Development was. With the second season being the best installment, this show proved to be non-stop comedy genius. It combined great acting, hilarious guest-starring (freakin Carl Weathers!) and complexe (often over the top) plots. It also seems to me that the show is the first of its kind to use so much reflexivity and intertextual humour (the Buster Keaton scene, Bond, The O.C., The Office but also more real stuff like the war in Irak, Star war Kid, Girls gone wild etc...) projecting it outside of a simply fictionnal world. This constant outreaching to the real world does not work à la Seinfeld, where the more realistic nature of the show simply attached itself to the viewers world. It seems as if Arrested Development, with it's powerful internal fictionnal world does not simply relate to the viewers world, but forces itself into reality, fictionalyzing it (thinking about the Saddam's mini-palaces scandal, the Irak war etc...).

Anyway, just wanted to tell you how much you need to check it out. This is as good as american TV gets.
