Remembering Kraftwerk

Making a longer story short is one of the most underrated capacity of mankind.

I'll try to use it :

Girlfriend listening to the most girly rock band in the world : Coldplay.

The song : Talk

Having discovered recently Kraftwerk, it pops in my head : they ripped off totally the song Computer Love (KomputerLiebe).

I was ready to ramble about how much they suck and how one of their listenable song is actually not their song, but checking out some stuff I realized they askind KW for their permission and even gave them credits on the album.

Two things : 1- Kraftwerk were visionary and their melodies have not aged a bit.

2- What a tought was an open door to bash coldplay ended up making them look better to my eyes : they've listened to kraftwerk and liked it to the point of making up a kind of hommage.

Bottom line : any weapon can be used against you.

Still working on it

Well yeah, the week-end is over and no photos, but soon.

BTW : speaking of 24, the kind of show I kept ripping on. I've watched the first season and its ok, I'm finishing the second one, and its ok two...I'll watch the third one and I'm sure it wil be ok.

Just that.

But hell, I'm gonna watch them all, there's something about it that makes you not think about anything else then who's gonna fuck Jack and what he's gonna do - and that's so liberating.

I guess that's what we call a nice entertainment. Still lookgin for Deadwood, I wonder if it's worth watching.

Also, talking about two movies I've seen : 1- Zodiac, 2- The host.

Zodiac was nice, with a boring bit in the middle. Byut then again it is exactly the kind of movie the critics are calling great, you're family is calling great, but is not more then "It was raining like hell and I've just finished my Civ IV game so I'll sit and watch anything that is not another rerun of Seinfeld" Well, Zodiac is just that : a tale that want to make itself conmplicated, with twists and turns but and up being a little bit off the track, losing characteres in the process, wanting to tell ten years et 2 and a half hour...

The host as been called the best monster movie in years, a great korean film, a great sci-fi movie about how tthe medias spread fear in moments of crisis and how the autorities can mishandle things to the point a rugby game seems simple. But, I must say, i had 3 nice moments and bored me to death in between. Al those nobles qualities critics are telling about just shows how many of them came just at the end, saw the first three minutes of only the trailer. Cause it is just what freakin korean movies are (most of them with the exception, maybe, of a world witout thieves and internal affairs) : somewhat filled with good ideas and somehow amazingly incoherent. No Descartes in this part of the world and it shows : the scenarions are so often lacking coherence, not even realism (that's not what i'm talking about) but just a follow up in the scenes that makes it a whole and not 513 movies in one (with the summum of BS being Bichunmoo, which sucks to the point of no return; me and my pal, at 1/3 of the movie ghad no ideas what was happening...).

So, what to say : Zodiac, yes but not that much.

The host : fuck this unless you are a movie freak like me and find korean women really attractive.

I'll ramble on again soon, about nothing and more.

Partir

Leaving for Corsica this friday, i'll get back with photos posted on this blog.

Question de lecture

Toujours, cela m'habite : écrire davantage sur ce que j'ai fait ou sur ce que je n'ai pas fait?

Selling a Castle

Count Vlad's castle (who inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula) is on sale.

Having visited it i can say it's a bit dark and humid. On the plus side, the bats are included.
